Many members appreciate KaleidoScoops® Supreme Hand-dipped Ice Cream for our ability to provide them with premium products at discount rates, but this is not the biggest advantage to obtaining a membership. We provide our members with many tools that are needed to run an efficient operation and attract and retain an active and changing customer base. We react to the needs of our members by including them in the decision making process. We form committees that keep the best interests of the individual in mind as well as the interests of the co-op as a whole.
As a member of the KaleidoScoops co-op organization, you'll get:
- A voice in what we, as a co-op organization, do.
- A store owner/manager training system that is second to none, and options for follow up training if it is needed.
- A distribution system that includes all major products (frozen and dry goods) in one easy order. Our unbeatable ice cream products come from a reliable, respected ice cream manufacturer, and we have a full line of printed items as well as access to our Preferred Vendors.

- The protection of a brand. You will only find KaleidoScoops products in KaleidoScoops ice cream shops, except in cases where a member or a group of members sell ice cream outside your shop.

- We allow no prepackaged goods in local grocery stores and convenient stores, unless sold to them by our member.
- In 2007 we initiated a new logo, planned and designed with the help of more than a dozen qualified people, most of whom work in front of ice cream customers day in and day out. The logo, which is the crux of our new designs for outdoor signage indoor menu systems, advertising, and merchandising, was carefully researched and conceived after intense deliberation. We have always appealed to families, and have always drawn kids, but this trademark logo was designed to attract adults, who pass by our stores everyday. Before now, we believe that up to 40% of the potential customers, who were exposed to our signage or off site advertising, were unsure what we were selling. They thought we were called Kaleidoscope and were offering anything from kid’s recreational gymnasiums and playrooms to Dipping Dots frozen ice cream beads. Now, with our logo broken into a two color word mark, sophisticated color scheme and an adult style flavor of ice cream presented in the mark, we are already seeing huge success from it.
- With this new logo, we have brought in new high profile logo cups, cones, cake boxes, pint and quart containers, KaleidoScoops ice cream sandwiches, etc.
- We have put together a new, high-profile menu system with all new photography and images to highlight the quality of our products and our position as a national brand and big player in the future of the retail ice cream industry.
- This is the most exciting one of all. With our ice cream deliveries, we now include dry goods distribution. Everything from toppings to logo cups and cones will now be available conveniently with our ice cream order, and with no extra shipping charge. Members save 20% - 50% of their orders from what they would pay normal dry goods distributors, and this should affect their bottom line by several percent.
- Our experienced professionals will assist you with your location selection.
- We will provide you with the tools and assistance to create a solid business plan. We have samples in our operations manual.
- We are the only major ice cream chain with red-tea fruit dessert smoothies made with all natural ingredients, and a nationally proven favorite frozen cappuccino mix.
- We are one of a few companies who offer pre-made ice cream cakes (there are only a few national chains that do this – all expensive franchises) and we carry 7 flavors to choose from. All you do is frost and decorate them.
- We have negotiated good deals with a dozen nationally selected vendors, who will inexpensively bring you everything from top quality and low priced logo uniforms to inexpensive and high-quality insurance packages to merchant card services.
- We provide new members with a complete hands-on eight-day personal training program at a national training center, done so by some of the most qualified ice cream store owners and managers in the country. The training will cost $1,500, and is valued at about $6,000 - but really is invaluable, since most independent chains have no training program, and franchise systems offer it as a part of their $25,000 to $40,000 franchise fees.
- We provide all members with a full top to bottom operations manual (including everything from inches inventory formulas and flash gross profits analysis to how do make ice cream cakes, serve menu items, run local store marketing and perform freezer maintenance checks)
- A brand new web site, with a member's only section filled with data tools, FTP site marketing links, online Birthday club sign up apps, occasional one-time downloadable coupons, latest promotion information, individual store participation info, etc.
- We are moving to provide a more standard in-store menu system with new photography for all images, new graphics design for more exciting marketing images, and incorporate our new logo into them.
- We are becoming more and more adaptive to member’s needs. Since we are a non-profit cooperative, we easily co-brand with other companies, and we offer other day part and seasonal products like deli meats and sandwiches, coffee and espresso products, pastries and warm deserts, shaved ice, catering services, etc.
- We have a variety of design options, including things like mall stores, downtown markets, drive thru and walk up only offerings, mobile vending, kiosk spots, ball park and event options, etc.
